60-minutes Google Meet Session
PTSD Counselling
The event is over. Your nervous system has not been told.
In short
PTSD counselling treats the flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance and avoidance that persist after a traumatic event. Ami Thaker uses trauma-focused CBT in paced 60-minute online sessions, with stabilisation always coming before any processing work.
Symptoms of PTSD
You do not need every one of these, and you do not need to be in crisis to start. If two or three feel familiar, counselling is likely to help.
- Flashbacks, intrusive images or a sense of reliving the event
- Nightmares and disturbed sleep connected to what happened
- Avoiding places, people, conversations or reminders linked to the event
- Constant alertness, scanning for danger, startling easily
- Emotional numbness or feeling cut off from people you love
- Irritability, anger outbursts or recklessness that is not like you
- Guilt, shame or blaming yourself for what happened
- Gaps in memory of the event, or a sense of unreality
- Symptoms persisting more than a month and interfering with work or relationships
