60-minutes Google Meet Session
Pre-Marital Counselling
Have the difficult conversations now, not in year three.
In short
Pre-marital counselling is a short, structured set of sessions where an engaged couple works through finances, family expectations, children, careers, intimacy and conflict style before marriage. With Ami Thaker it usually takes four to six 60-minute online sessions.
Pre-marital counselling is worth doing if
You do not need every one of these, and you do not need to be in crisis to start. If two or three feel familiar, counselling is likely to help.
- You are marrying soon and have not yet discussed money, children or where you will live in detail
- One or both families have strong expectations you have not openly negotiated
- It is an arranged match and you want to build understanding quickly and honestly
- You come from different religions, languages, castes or cultures
- Either of you carries difficult experiences from previous relationships or from your parents' marriage
- You argue well about small things but avoid the big ones
- You simply want to start well — the single best predictor of a strong marriage is preparation
